Great place for brunch and an underrated gem! We made reservations for six a day or two before and were seated with no wait. The ambiance is great (special points for whoever makes the playlist). Food is on the higher end of SF brunch at $18-20+ for most dishes. I got the chicken and waffles and loved it: the chicken was the right balance of crispy and tender without being breaded, and the pickled jalapeños were great for brightening up an otherwise heavy dish. Portion sizes were just right. I know it's a supper club, but I was super impressed with the brunch. I'd visit again!

The Sunday supper was a great deal!! You can choose any appetizer, any entrée and any dessert for $40. (though we were not even told about the special of the night a truffle pasta - so not exactly sure if you could have included it in the Sunday special). We got there right when they opened, so we got to chose any seat, we sat right by the window. It is a cute little room, a bit chilly, but not bad. We ordered the focaccia to start ($3 - but came out fresh from the oven and pillow-y soft!) I ordered the meatballs, the scallops and the bread pudding. My friend ordered the pate, the short ribs and the chocolate pudding in the egg cup. We pretty much split all of them. Best in show for me were the appetizers! The scallops were a teeny bit underdone. All the portions were huge. My husband was away so I went with a girlfriend, but it really would be great for a date! I left S-T-U-F-F-E-D!! and had leftovers

The Hillside Supper Club is very quaint restaurant in Bernal Heights off Folsom by Precita Park. On this January day you would have thought this was spring since it was so sunny outside, I was visiting to have brunch with my younger sis and wife. Lots of different offerings, from classic breakfast entrees to what the Kim Chee fried rice I ordered. The Kim Chee fried rice, had a little too much pickle and cucumber to my liking but still tasted good. It had an egg for protein, would have been nice to have some meat with it. Upon ordering the server recommended the side of bacon. Instead I chose the French toast and shared it with the party of 3. My sis ordered the bread pudding which was tasty and my wife ordered the same as me. Very good service and atmosphere, plus reasonably priced.

What an amazing, unassuming neighborhood gem! The food was DELICIOUS and the wait time on a Saturday morning wasn't bad (unheard of in SF). This is also one of the few places I could find where you can make a reservation at a place that serves bottomless mimosas. We ordered the chicken (marinated in goat fat(!)) and waffles, polenta, and savory bread pudding. Everything was presented beautifully and such an interesting twist on brunch. The bottomless mimosas come in a science beaker and is quickly refilled by waitstaff. And that chocolate custard farm egg is a dream. The one downside was the Mr. Gomez drink (coffee, smoked syrup, and sherry). It was served cold and way too sweet. Less coffee than sherry. All in all, highly recommend for brunch!

I've dined at Hillside Supper Club a handful of times. My first experience was a team dinner on a cold day, and the menu offered all of the comforting flavors and ingredients my body craved. We dined over roasted carrots, butternut squash soup, pot pie, warm breads, seasonal salads, and loads of wine... this was yearrrs ago, but I instantly remembered it when when I walked through their doors again recently. This time around, it was different season and an all-new menu. The watermelon salad was a highlight for me. It had all the combined flavors - sweet, salty, citrus, evoo - that tugged at my tastebuds. A must if you go now and it's still on the menu. Almost everyone at the table couldn't resist ordering the cacio e pepe. My gal pal and I decided to split the cacio e pepe - but with their gluten free noodles. Hell yeah, thanks for offering that option, HSC. Surprisingly, my other teammate (Cara L, see her review) won by ordering the garganelli with burrata. I mean, nothing beats burrata. Their prices were reasonable and well within our dining budget, so much that we were able to order a few more bottles of wine. No losses there. Service is great. Location is great. Ideal spot for a date or small group dinner (about 8 people max I would recommend).
